The Maison Gucci launches Aria, a new collection that feels like (re)birth, thanks also to the surprise visit (authorized and declared by the creative director Alessandro Michele) of two other legends of the fashion world: Balenciaga and Tom Ford.
On the 100 Year Anniversary of the brand, during which the shooting of the film on the murder of the brand’s founder’s grandson is also taking place, the new collection walks down the catwalk, in live streaming. The models alternate one after the other surrounded by flashing lights that shoot and replace the lack of live audience, in a show that is a real short film. And that begins through the main entrance of the Savoy Hotel in London, the same where Guccio Gucci began working as an elevator operator in his youth.
Several references to the history of these one hundred years of activity can be found in many of the outfits presented: from the world of horse riding to more strictly fashion elements but with a certain degree of evolution, from the iconic moccasins to boots, without neglecting the beauty world of cosmetics and perfumes.
The symbolic piece of this collection is a clutch in the shape of an anatomical heart, covered with sequins, which at the end of the show is thrown into the air by the model, symbolizing a sort of liberation. A gesture that, in such a complicated moment for the whole world, takes on a strong symbolic value of hope and (re)birth.
